Over the weekend my dodgeball team competed in the second round of a three-part tournament series in the Elite Dodgeball League. Teams are put into one of four region-based divisons (we're in the South division). Each division competes in their own tournament series, receiving a certain number of points depending on how they place at each one (first place gets 10 points, second place gets 9, etc.). At the of the end of the three-tournament series, the 4 teams with the highest point totals in each division qualify for the top 16 spots in the 20-team national tournament in Vegas over Labor Day weekend. The first day in Vegas will consist of a round robin pool to determine 1) which other teams will take the final 4 spots in the bracket and 2) the seeding for bracket-play taking place the following day. We won our first two tournaments in the South division and finish off the series in Austin on June 21.
